The location of the charging station should be considered in conjunction with the development plan of electric vehicles in the city. It should be closely integrated with the current situation of the distribution network and the recent and long-term planning. The principle is to meet the power supply requirements of charging stations and the power quality control requirements of the power grid for charging stations. The following matters should be considered when selecting the location of charging stations.

1. Power supply access point. The construction of the charging station should be convenient to obtain the power supply, choose close to the power supply end. And convenient for the power supply access line.

2. The public charging station should be built in a convenient place for entering and leaving the car. It is preferable to choose beside the secondary roads in the city, not near the intersection of branch roads or crossroads. The import and export of the charging station should be connected with the secondary roads of the city.

3. Charging stations should be reserved for a certain number of spare sites.

4. When the number of electric power engineering repair vehicles, electric dump trucks, electric buses, etc. is large, it is appropriate to set up a special charging station.

5. Charging stations should not be located outdoors in low-lying, water-prone places and locations prone to secondary disasters.

6. New charging stations should make full use of the adjacent roads, traffic, water supply and drainage, fire, and other municipal utilities.

7. Charging stations are not allowed to be set in places with explosive hazards directly above or below, when adjacent to buildings with explosive hazards, should meet the requirements of GB 500582014 “Design Code for Electrical Installations in Explosive Hazardous Environments”.

8. Charging stations are not allowed to be located in places with severe vibration or high temperature, and should not be located in places with dust, water mist, or corrosive gases, and when it is impossible to stay away, should not be located on the downwind side of the wind direction of the pollution source.

9. Charging station should meet the requirements of environmental protection and fire safety, and other buildings and structures between the fire spacing should meet the requirements of GB 502292006 “Thermal Power Plant and Substation Design Fire Code”, GB 500162014 “Architectural Design Fire Code”.

10. Charging stations are not allowed to be located in bathrooms or other places where water often accumulates, and the function rooms for installing electrical equipment should not be adjacent to the above places.

Charging pile setting

The AC charging pile provides AC power for the vehicle charger. DC charging pile provides small-capacity DC power for the electric vehicle power battery pack. The charging pile should be located in the parking lot, and according to the local electric vehicle development plan, a certain proportion of charging piles should be set according to the parking space, and the charging pile should be set in the parking lot of the power supply business place as a priority.
